Overview

AUPP/ AUSSP is the first ‘Safer Cities Programme’, a global initiative of UN-Habitat, implemented in 8 strategic cities of Afghanistan since 2015. The programme aims at women, men, girls and boys in the cities to strengthen their trust with the local and national governments and achieve safe, secure and inclusive cities as an active stakeholder in the governance and social systems. The activities are implemented at the community, municipal and national levels, adopting the concept of Safety and Security that encompasses holistic socio-economic issues, not limited to crime preventions or physical protection from violence.
